The Sylamore banjos are our answer to the many emails we get from our students and others for a more affordable banjo. The neck & pot are made in our shop by us. They take less time to construct, but are still rewarding to build and play, and we always pay attention to the details that count when it comes to the sound and playability of our instruments. The Sylamore banjo is great for beginner and advanced player alike, and has the durability to travel for your many miles of tunes!

Man in the Moon

Gorgeous figured maple with hand engraved mother of pearl Man in the Moon inlay. The Whyte Laydie tone ring gives tons of sustain and volume with plenty of note articulation to ensure your melodies won't get swallowed in a mix. Walnut and 12” rolled brass make for a warm, plunky sound that’s great for playing melody or rhythm. This banjo has a wonderfully balanced tone and no lack of depth to its bass end due to the 12” pot. Can’t go wrong with the classic sound of a rolled brass tone ring, it would be a great banjo for any setting. Black and white mother of pearl Compass inlay with North pointing up when playing and East when standing up.

A timeless victorian inspired scroll inlay in mother of pearl, has been a favorite for many years.

Walnut and dobson tone rings make great solo banjos as there are incredibly warm and bass driven. These banjos have very few harsh overtones exspechly with a skin head and are very forgiving to play. Mother of pearl 3D Star inlay give it classic, vintage look.
